New year's resolutions - I don't make them.
I really can't handle the pressure. I just am not a "this is the day you are going to quit/change. So DO IT and STICK TO IT!" Kind of a person. When there is a deadline I get really anxious ahead of time, and the moment I screw up... which is bound to happen a few times and with me usually happens within the first couple of days, I just wonder why should I keep trying? It doesn't make sense continuing on with a New Year's resolution once you've FAILED at it! So in order to avoid making New Year's Resolutions, I pick something I want to work on and just start right away rather than planning ahead or waiting till 'next year'. I like to just dive right in and DO IT rather than thinking about it forever. I've learned it works the best for me. No pre-change anxiety and if I screw up, well I'm a lot easier on myself. I did after all just dive in, learning as I go, so I shouldn't expect perfection!
So that (incase anyone wondered) is why I'm starting a Vegan Challenge now, at the end of February, instead of New Years, or Earth day, or some other day. Also, circumstances being what they are, this is when the Vegan Challenge landed in my lap which I'll explain more on that in a future blog.
